THE BRADLEY FAMILY TO RECEIVE
FAMILY OF THE YEAR AWARD
Elmsford, NY (June 16, 2016) -- The family of PGA TOUR star Keegan Bradley will be honored by the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association as Family of the Year at the 65th National Awards Dinner on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, NY. The MGWA's Family of the Year Award honors a family for its contributions to the game and for representing the virtues and ideals of golf and family.
Keegan Bradley won the 2011 PGA Championship during his debut year on the PGA TOUR, becoming only the third player to win a major in his first attempt. His aunt, Pat Bradley, won 31 LPGA Tour events, including six major championships, and played on three U.S. Solheim Cup teams in addition to captaining the team in 2000. She is a member of both the LPGA Hall of Fame and World Golf Hall of Fame. Keegan is the son of PGA member Mark Bradley, the Head Professional at the Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club near Jackson, Wyoming.
The Keegan Bradley Charity Golf Classic in Woodstock, Vermont, marks its fifth year in 2016, raising money for the Vermont Cancer Center and Vermont Children's Hospital.
Other MGWA award recipients this year include Davis Love III (Gold Tee Award), Tim Rosaforte (Lincoln Werden Golf Journalism Award), Century Country Club (Club of the Year) and Jay Mottola (Distinguished Service Award). Additional award recipients will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Since 1952, the MGWA has recognized the game’s greatest players, contributors, and organizations at its National Awards Dinner – the longest-running and often the largest golf dinner in the U.S. each year. A special video celebrates the six decades of the MGWA National Awards Dinner: https://vimeo.com/63849701
Longtime MGWA member Jim Nantz says, “There is no dinner in America that celebrates golf like this one.”
Golf’s leading organizations – PGA of America, PGA TOUR, LPGA, USGA, MGA and top companies – Rolex, MetLife, and KPMG, support the National Awards Dinner. The MGWA has raised more than 1.5 million dollars for Caddie Scholarship programs in the metropolitan New York area; the MGA Foundation; and the David Marr Journalism Scholarship at Columbia University.
