This is just a brief reminder that our deadline is approaching to sign up for next week’s meeting and outing at Hempstead Golf & Country Club on Long Island.

The meeting and golf outing are scheduled for Wednesday, June 26, 2019, beginning with the bag drop and practice time between 8:30 to 10:30 am.

The deadline to sign up for Hempstead is next Monday, June 24, at 2:00 pm.  HOWEVER… we respectfully request that if you have not signed up yet and do wish to attend, please try to complete the sign up process by the end of the day tomorrow, Friday, June 21^st. There is a busy schedule next week at the club and we are looking to provide a fairly complete roster of attendance for our hosts over the weekend.

As always, our agenda includes several featured presentations with Q&A opportunities, and an afternoon of golf, with competition for those eligible.

Presentations will be provided by officials from Hempstead G&CC about the history of the venue and nuances about the course which opened in 1921 and received various architectural adjustments in 1927 from A.W. Tillinghast with a modern upgrading in recent years by MGWA member/architect Stephen Kay.

Women’s Met Golf Association president Lori Ann Cerullo will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the history and growth of the WMGA, and the numerous programs that organization offers.

Our competition in the afternoon spotlights a two-person better ball event. Within that framework, members of our Quill & Tee Golf Club Without Real Estate are eligible to vie for a slot as our Q&T representatives advancing to the sectional qualifying stage of the Met Golf Association’s Four Ball Championship.

We ask that tournament golfers form their own twosomes and list your team on the entry form. However, should you wish to have a partner assigned for the better ball tournament, please indicate that desire. Anyone playing in the tournament must have a verifiable GHIN handicap.
