This is a brief reminder for all those who have not yet signed up to attend our season-closing MGWA event on Tuesday, October 15^th at Manhattan Woods Golf Club in West Nyack, NY, that the deadline to register is next week.

 

The deadline has been set as 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 10th, but since we anticipate a large attendance and multiple activities taking place, we are asking everyone who hasn’t signed up yet --- if possible --- please try to register by the end of the day on Tuesday, October 8^th.

 

 

Manhattan Woods, which opened in 1999, features a rolling Gary Player-designed par-72 parkland course with tee boxes ranging from 5,090 to 7,110 yards. The rating and slope from the championship tees are 76.0 and 153.

 

In addition to hearing from Club Manager Ian Gillule about Manhattan Woods, our guest presentation that day includes Tyler Stanulonis, Marketing Support Manager at Casio America, who will be showcasing the company’s Pro Trek Smart WSD-F30 Smart Watch. Several of the watches will be offered as prizes at the end of the day.

 

We will have two competitions taking place at Manhattan Woods: The annual MGWA Team Shootout and the Quill & Tee GC Club Championship. The team shootout is a fun and funky two best balls of foursome (80% handicap) format. Players must have verifiable handicaps, or play at scratch. The Q&TGC event was postponed from the weather-impacted gathering in July at The Tuxedo Club, and will be contested at scratch in flights.

 

We encourage members to form four-person teams for the Shootout, but signing up as a single, or two or three, also is OK, and we will endeavor to complete the pairings for the competition.
