2021 MGWA Membership Renewals Are Now Open!

Dear MGWA Members,
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a joyous and safe holiday season.
We’re happy to report that MGWA Membership renewal is now open. 2020 was certainly a challenging, unprecedented year for everyone. The pandemic caused us to cancel last year’s National Awards Dinner, but things are looking up for this coming season! We will produce a virtual Awards Ceremony, and an exciting lineup of golf outings is returning to our schedule. We’re also working on some creative fundraising events that we’ll share with you soon.
Additionally, we are always looking for new members. If you have friends in the golf writing, journalism, or related media business that you would like to sponsor, please send them to our website. They can click on the “membership” tab and submit a membership request. Membership in the MGWA provides you with a number of exclusive benefits:
- Discounted tickets to our National Awards Dinner.*
- Discounts to other MGWA fundraising functions.
- The ability to maintain your handicap through Quill & Tee, our members-only “virtual club.”
- Discounted access to the Met-area’s finest golf courses at MGWA member-only golf outings/events.
- The opportunity for you to network with your peers – the MGWA community of writers, editors, photographers, and other media professionals.
- Most important – supporting the MGWA’s charitable work. All revenues raised through dues, outing fees, Dinner ticket sales, etc., go directly to the caddie scholarship funds and other philanthropic causes that the MGWA supports.
*Provided the Dinner takes place, as the pandemic has added an element of uncertainty
Also, we encourage our members to engage on MGWA social media platforms: Instagram & Twitter (@MetGolfWriters) and on Facebook (Met Golf Writers Association).
The MGWA’s 2021 dues are: Regular Members $75, Associate Members $100, Retired Members $25. Descriptions for the dues categories are on the renewal form. Please note that dues have not increased. In fact, with all the benefits your membership affords you, if you attend just one MGWA event this year you’ve offset the cost of your dues!
Renewing your membership is easy. Simply log into the MGWA website by clicking the green Login box in the upper right corner, then click the Membership tab on the top menu or click here to be directed to the Membership Renewal Form. You must be logged in to access this form (reminder, your username is your preferred email address and your password is your last name – capitalize the first letter). If you receive an “Access Denied” message, you have not logged in properly.
