Final Advisory & Notes for Tuesday, June 8th, at Pelham Country Club
June 7, 2021
To: All Those Attending Pelham CC on June 8th
From: Chuck Stogel, MGWA Activities Committee
Here are a few reminders and some extra advisories for those members attending our meeting and golf outing on Tuesday, June 8th, at Pelham Country Club….
--- 1. Masks must be worn indoors. For the health and safety of everyone on-site, the MGWA requests that all attendees wear face mask coverings while indoors, especially in close-knit settings. This includes the clubhouse and golf shop. We are not able to ascertain whether everyone attending has been fully vaccinated, although many of us have been. Additionally, there is club staff on-site as well. Obviously, we will have to make some exceptions, such as for dining situations and showers, etc. Masks are optional while playing golf. We thank everyone in advance for your cooperation.
--- 2. Here is where our gatherings in the clubhouse will take place at Pelham:
Breakfast available, and general meeting session: Weihman Room
Lunch: Grill Room
After-golf refreshments, prizes: Main Dining Room. (Please note: Alcoholic beverages will be on a cash basis.)
--- 3. For those attendees competing in our two-person better ball team event, scorecards have been prepared in advance for each twosome and will be distributed at Pelham CC. This is a net event, and all cards indicate handicap strokes to be received. The strokes have been adjusted to reflect the rating/slope at Pelham, as well as calculating a 95% factor as stipulated in the MGA Met Net rules which we are using.
Further, individual handicaps cannot exceed 20.0 for men and 36.0 combined for a team. Players with higher handicaps may play at the maximum amount of strokes in our outing (which we will allow) but cannot choose the option of also vying to represent our MGWA Quill & Tee Golf Club in the Met Golf Association Four Ball Championship, aka the Met Net (an option the MGA does not allow in its competition for that event).
--- 4. For those Quill & Tee members, who in addition to our competition at Pelham, choose to vie to become the Q&T team advancing to the MGA Met Net sectional qualifying, you must inform Chuck Stogel in advance of teeing off at Pelham and pay a $20 MGA fee per teammate.
The MGA Four Ball Championship final is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19th, at Spring Brook CC, Morristown NJ. The three sectional qualifying dates and sites: Monday, September 20th, at Knollwood CC, Elmsford NY; Monday, September 27th, at Hamlet G&CC, Commack NY; Tuesday, October 5th, at Beacon Hill CC, Atlantic Highlands NJ. There is no additional fee.
