Lori Ann Cerullo and Patrick Donnelly Named to MGWA Executive Committee, Replace Retiring Fields, Mottola

NAMED TO MGWA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE,

REPLACE RETIRING FIELDS, MOTTOLA

 

Elmsford, NY (December 21, 2021) --- WMGA President Lori Ann Cerullo and Patrick Donnelly, VP/General Counsel for Sirius XM Holdings and an MGA Executive Committee member, have been named to the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association.  They join MGWA President Brian Crowell, Vice Presidents Mark Cannizzaro, Hank Gola and Damon Hack, Treasurer Dave Donelson, and Executive Committee members Bruce Beck, Dan BergerMartin Davis, Pete Kowalski, Ann Liguori, Bill Meth, Peter Morrice, John Paul Newport, Pat Norton, Bill PenningtonJimmy Roberts and Chuck Stogel.  Ms. Cerullo and Mr. Donnelly will occupy the seats vacated by the retirements of longtime MGWA Board members Bill Fields and Jay Mottola.  “Both Jay and Bill have made incredible contributions to golf,” said Brian Crowell.  “They have earned universal respect for their passion and dedication to the game and those who play it. The Metropolitan Golf Writers Association has been very fortunate to have their insight and guidance in the boardroom. We are all thankful for their years of service.”

 

Lori Ann Cerullo became President of the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association, which promotes women’s and junior girls amateur golf, in 2018.  During her tenure, Ms. Cerullo has expanded the WMGA offerings with year-round events along with a robust tournament season while increasing both club and individual memberships.  She is also a trustee of the WMGA Foundation.  She has an extensive background in Sales and Marketing, first at IBM, where she began as a Regional Technical Sales Manager and ultimately became VP of Sales.  After retiring from IBM, Ms. Cerullo was named the VP of Messaging Technology at Pitney Bowes, and officially retired in 2010.

 

Patrick Donnelly serves as Vice President of the Metropolitan Golf Association, as well as a trustee of the MGA Foundation.  He is the longtime Executive VP and General Counsel for Sirius XM Holdings Inc., and manages all of the company’s legal and governmental affairs.  Before joining Sirius XM, Mr. Donnelly was VP/Deputy General Counsel of ITT Corporation.  He began his career at the NY law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions as well as securities matters.  “Lori Ann and Patrick will be tremendous assets for the MGWA. They bring fresh perspective with a wealth of experience. Both are proven leaders with a passion for golf. We are excited to welcome them to the Board of the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association,” Crowell stated.

 

Founded in 1952, the MGWA promotes golf journalism and honors the sport’s champions and contributors.  Its largest fundraiser, the National Awards Dinner, is a highly anticipated annual event, attracting hundreds of attendees representing golf’s leading organizations and corporate supporters, Met Area Clubs and Club leaders, as well as local and national golf media. Through the Dinner and other events, the MGWA has raised millions of dollars for Caddie Scholarship programs in the Metropolitan New York area, the MGA Foundation, and the Dave Marr Journalism Scholarship at Columbia University.
